Challenge / Goal

To reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transport and meet the national and international climate targets, while keeping transport practical and affordable for consumers and businesses.

Solution

To deploy hydrogen as an alternative fuel for transport, especially for heavy-duty vehicles, buses, trains, ships and planes, that can run on fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) or hydrogen-derived e-fuels. Hydrogen can be produced from renewable sources such as wind and solar, and can be stored and distributed through existing gas infrastructure or dedicated hydrogen refuelling stations.
