Diesel vehicles saw a continued decline in popularity, with only 22% of new cars being diesel, down from 27% in the previous year, showcasing an evolving consumer preference towards greener alternatives. The overall car market experienced a 16% growth, with electric cars now representing 19% of all new cars, up from 15% in 2022. This trend underscores the increasing demand for sustainable travel options, highlighting a critical moment for stakeholders to focus on policies and infrastructure that support the adoption of electric and eco-friendly vehicles.
