Limerick to get more bike lanes and traffic calming measures
The Limerick City and County Council has announced a plan to improve cycling infrastructure and road safety in the city. The plan includes the installation of more bike lanes, traffic calming measures, and pedestrian crossings. The council said the plan is part of its commitment to promote sustainable transport and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The plan will be implemented in phases, starting with the areas of Castletroy, Corbally, and the city centre. The council also said it will consult with local residents and businesses before finalising the design and layout of the bike lanes and traffic calming measures. The council hopes that the plan will encourage more people to cycle and walk in the city, and improve the quality of life and health of the residents.
