About us

County Cavan is a rural county in Ireland, part of the province of Ulster and the Northern and Western Region. The county has a population of 81,201 and covers an area of 1,932 km2. It is known as 'The Lakeland County' for its 365 lakes and the sources of the Shannon and Erne rivers.

Sustainable Mobility Focus: County Cavan is currently developing a Climate Action Plan. The county is also committed to keep the best practices of litter management and pollution control, as well as environmental awareness and enforcement.
