About us

With a population of 296,214, Fingal County is the second most populous county in the state of Ireland. The County was established in 1994 when the County of Dublin was divided in three smaller counties. The biggest town by population is Swords with around 43,000 inhabitants.

Sustainable Mobility Focus: Fingal County is part of the Smart Dublin initiative and is represented at the steering committee by representatives of its council. Being part of this groundbreaking inivtiative, Fingal County is a role county focused on driving innnovation and developing solutions which adress complex challenges.
